TIME Magazine calls Angelique Kidjo "Africa Premier Diva"

"Being Africa's premier diva is not a crown that Kidjo wears lightly. As an African, she says, she comes from a place with problems. But as a musician, she argues, she can solve them."

In a piece called "Redemption Song", Alex Perry, the Editor in Chief for Africa of TIme Magazine tells the story of Angelique's intense concert in Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe. Then, he evokes her career as a singer and a UNICEF goodwill ambassador. He also explores Angelique's passion for various musical collaborations.
