Angelique sings under Paris Arc De Triomphe in front of the world leaders to commemorate WW1 centennial.

In tribute to the fighters from Africa who have lost their lives in this world conflict, she made the song “Blewu" resonate under the Arc de Triomphe after the performance of cellist Yo-Yo Ma. Originally, “Blewu" was interpreted by the Togolese Bella Bellow, who died in 1973 in a car accident.

It was raining heavily this Sunday, November 11th in Paris. Fortunately, the Beninese singer Angélique Kidjo brought a note of hope - and even of sun - during these dismal celebrations of the 14-18 Centennial.

This Sunday, live on Television channels around the world, she literally moved the 70 leaders present for the commemorations - Including the presidents of France, Canada, Germany and Russia. Some French ministers have also remained speechless as Nathalie Loiseau, in charge of European affairs, who tweeted: “Sublime Angélique Kidjo, a vibrant tribute to the soldiers of Africa.
